Denise Richards and James Hyde star in the new Nicely Entertainment’s Christmas movie A Christmas Frequency, premiering November 1 on Hulu. Let’s take a first look! We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with star Jonathan Stoddard about his experience in the making of the movie A Christmas Frequency and what fans can expect.

Can you tell us a bit about your character in A Christmas Frequency?

In the upcoming Christmas Romcom A Christmas Frequency, I play Ben Covington, a lifestyle and ‘best of’ writer who works at Topline Papers.  Little does he know that he’s about to fall in love with someone who works in his building!

What initially attracted you to your role in “A Christmas Frequency”?

The reason I was initially drawn to this project was because of the Director, Lindsay Hartley. Once I started looking deeper into the project, I discovered that I knew a lot of the people who were putting it together, like Dave Hickey, Josh Maas, Ansley Gordon and more. One of the greatest feelings in the world is creating a fun project with people you enjoy working with.

What do you think makes the romance in the movie so special and captivating?

The romance in A Christmas Frequency is really special because throughout most of the movie I’m actually being setup with someone else (Denise Richards), but the entire time, you’re rooting for Ben and Kenzie to get together!  We all know how love works, but the beauty is watching it unfold and seeing how two people find their way to each other. A Christmas Frequency is a really fun romantic Christmas movie.

What do you hope audiences take away from watching “A Christmas Frequency”?

When people finish watching A Christmas Frequency, I hope they feel like love is possible and most importantly, that it could possibly be ONE MISUNDERSTANDING AWAY.  Tell that person you love them! Go for it!  I hope this movie inspires people to take that chance with their special someone!

What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?

The cast and crew were amazing to work with!  Ansley is such a talented  actor and writer, and rarely do I get to work with the creator of the project.  It’s filmmaking on another level.  Denise Richards is an absolute icon and legend to work with and James Hyde and Casey Waller are some of the best hearts and talents anyone could ask for.  Lindsay Hartley is and will always be one of my favorite Directors and I’m so grateful I got to work with all of them on A Christmas Frequency.

What can you tease about your character Journey?

Ben Covington goes through quite a journey in A Christmas Frequency.  First he falls in love and then he ‘gets setup to possibly date another woman, only to find his way back to his true love.’  It’s a fun journey to say the least!

What was your favorite scene or moment while filming “A Christmas Frequency “?

My favorite scene to film in the movie is…THE ENTIRE MOVIE! Ha! Really, we had a blast making it and I couldn’t have asked for a better team.

Can you tell us about any challenges you faced while filming “A Christmas Frequency” and how you overcame them?

Surprisingly, we didn’t have a lot of challenges while filming A Christmas Frequency.  There are always going to be problems on set, but everybody came together as a team to over come them, stay motivated and creative, and to focus on telling a wonderful story.

Change of subject, What have been some of the most memorable projects you have worked on throughout your career, and why?

Some of my most memorable projects to date are movies like Bone Cold, Silent Thunder, A Prince and Pauper Christmas, and honestly, so many others. Each movie requires you to give of yourself, to pour yourself into the project.  Once it’s done, and finishes its journey through post production, you get to see the movie for the first time and it’s always magical.

Can you tease something about your next projects?

2024 is packed with some really cool projects that push the boundaries of filmmaking. They move away from Romcoms and into dramas and thrillers.  Buckle up because this next year is going to be pretty wild. I also have a movie coming out on Dec 23rd on GAC TV called A Royal Christmas Holiday where I play a prince who finds love in a small town!
