EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Star Jayne Heitmeyer Previews Lifetime Movie Network’s Death Down the Aisle!

Death Down the Aisle will premiere on Lifetime Movie Network on June 13th. We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with star Jayne Heitmeyer, who portrays Pamela, about her experience on LMN’s Death Down the Aisle and a lot more.

Can you tell us a bit about your character in Death Down the Aisle?

I play Pamela, who is the supremely loving but very controlling mother of Malorie, the bride whose fiance is murdered. He also happened to be my boss at a law firm.

What initially attracted you to your role in Death Down the Aisle?

I was attracted to this role as I saw in this character a real fierceness both as a single mother and as a powerful career woman. She is a real momma bear who has no limits when it comes to protecting her daughter. Therein lies the question, just how far will she go to protect her daughter, her job?

What do you think makes this movie so special and captivating?

I found the story to have two qualities in particular that I feel will appeal to the audience. First of all, it is a real whodunnit which will create intrigue and the twists are clever and unexpected. Secondly, it has a rollercoaster of emotions from a range of interesting characters along with very touching scenes when it comes to dealing with the death of a loved one.

What do you hope audiences take away from watching Death Down the Aisle?

I hope the audience will ride that rollercoaster and have fun speculating as to who is the true villain in the movie! As well, I hope they will be invested in the emotional journey of the characters and reach for a tissue or two:).

What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?

I was so fortunate to work with such a giving, talented cast on set and off set. We all met on location at the Wakefield Mill in Quebec and got to know each other off the bat as the wedding scene was one of the first scenes we shot. Jess Brown who plays Malorie, my daughter in the film had sent me an email prior to meeting beginning with ‘Hi Mom!’ :). She is so sweet and very talented, she did the heavy lifting in the movie playing the bride who loses the love of her life on her wedding day.  I must add that we also had a wonderful woman director named Roxanne Boisvert and a super crew!

What can you tease about your character Journey?

I can only tease that my character has to learn through the traumatic events in the story to tether her drive to control other people and situations….

What was your favorite scene or moment while filming Death Down the Aisle?

The opening wedding scene with full cast was interesting to shoot as it starts out as the happiest day and of course ultimately turns into the worst.

At Survived the Shows, we are big fans of Christmas comedies. What is your all-time favorite?

I love Christmas comedies!! Every year, I have to watch Love Actually, The Holiday, Serendipity and Home Alone! Die Hard?! lol

Can you tease something about your next projects?

I am auditioning presently so will see:) and I have a film on the backburner right now which will be directed by James Keach (Walk the Line). I am also involved with a musical theater production company called ‘In the Wings Promotions’ as well as co-producing live entertainment shows for charities called Strangers in the Night. Always fun to juggle different projects:).
