Ali Skovbye star in Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder at the Breakers, a new, original movie premiered February 2nd at 8 p.m. ET/PT as part of the Loveuary schedule. We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with star James Drew Dean, who plays Brady Cross, about his experience in the making of the movie ‘Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder at the Breakers and what fans can expect from the movie.

Can you tell us a bit about your character in the movie ‘Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder at the Breakers’?

Definitly! Brady is described as a black sheep. He’s a bit of a rogue. I think he dislikes the extremely wealthy and the sortof mass consumption of it all so he feels guilty and wants to run against the grain. He is motivated by that i think.

What initially attracted you to your role in the movie ‘Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder at the Breakers’?

The time period.

If you could portray another character in the movie ‘Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder at the Breakers’ which one would it be and why?

Cornelius would be fun. I don’t know why i just think it would be fun and interesting to play.

What do you think makes this movie so special and captivating?

I mean it’s a period piece under the hallmark brand. I don’t think they’ve produced many of those.

What was your favorite scene or moment while filming the movie ‘Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder at the Breakers’?

Going to the x-men mansion was pretty awesome. i’d say. Everyone was pretty psyched about filming there.

Change of subject, What have been some of the most memorable projects you have worked on throughout your career, and why?

I loved working on when calls the heart. I got to live in that world for 3 months and it was just the best. It’s also extremely nice as an actor to know youre going to work and that it is stable.

Can you tease something about your next projects?

Currently filming something else for hallmark. It’s going to be cool. I’m once again a bad boy. Someone on this set called me “the bad boy of Hollywood North” I thought that was pretty funny. I’m starting to book a lot of bad boy characters haha.
