Cyndy Busby and Raquel Gardner – EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW – Raquel Gardner Previews Margot’s Arc in Hallmark’s Love in Zion National: A National Park Romance!

How did you get involved with “Love in Zion National” and what drew you to the role of Margot Davis?

I auditioned for the role for Love in Zion National and was drawn to Margot’s character because she is smart, funny, has a great sense of humor. Margot also has a deep love for the museum and I loved her relationship with Cindy Busby’s character.

What was your favorite part of filming on location in Zion National Park?

My favorite part about filming in Zion was the beautiful landscape and the drive into Zion was one of the most magical sites I have ever seen in this country.

How did you bond with your co-stars on set?

I could not have asked for a more talented and genuine cast and crew. Cindy and I hit it off on day one and we found out we have the same birthday!! She is an absolute sweetheart and true professional. Bourke was such a gentleman and what a positive soul. David is absolutely adorable and so talented.

What was your favorite scene to film in the movie?

My favorite scene had to be filming in the Moqui Cave. It is so majestic and sacred. You can feel the energy inside the cave. And of course it was even better that I was able to share that moment with such great people.

Can you tell us about any funny behind-the-scenes moments from filming?

I think the funniest moment for me was when Cindy took a photo of me trying on this incredible mask from one of our scenes in the museum. The mask is bigger than my entire body and we couldn’t stop laughing.

What’s your favorite memory from filming “Love in Zion National”?

My favorite memory is driving from Zion back to Vegas airport. It is a three hour drive and the drive is straight from a postcard with the views of the snow capped mountains and the red rock craters and mountains.

How did you get into acting in the first place?

I have been acting since I was 16 years old. I have always wanted to be an actress since I was 5 years old. I moved to Los Angeles when I was 19 and have been working ever since. I love this industry and can’t think of myself doing anything else.

What have been some of your favorite roles to play throughout your career?

I love every role I play and not just for the role but for the friendships you build along the way. When I was shooting a series Acapulco Bay beck in 1995, I spent 6 months in Mexico with 8 other actors and most of those actors are still my dear friends to this day. It was such a great time in life.

What advice would you give to aspiring actors?

I have also been an acting coach the last 9 years and opened The Actors Mark in 2016 to help the next generation of actors build a strong sense of confidence, a solid technique and understand the business side of the industry from a deeper perspective. My advice to new actors is make sure you have trained and have the a strong confidence in yourself to take chances and commit to all the choices you make for your characters.

Can you tell us about any upcoming projects you have in the works?

I just finished thriller feature film where I play the mother of a child who is haunted by demons and I am trying to build my relationship with him after leaving him when he was young. I have also been currently producing and directing and have a comedy feature that I will be directing soon.

What can audiences expect from your performance in “Love in Zion National”?

I hope the audience for Love in Zion National will walk away with a desire to visit the spectacular landmarks of our country, hopefully visit their local museum and learn about their local history. Hallmark has a wonderful way of sharing such beautiful love stories that make us wanting more.

I want to thank Hallmark for this opportunity and I am so grateful to be part of the dedicated Hallmark family.
