Lifetime ‘s movie Crowdsource Murder, is all set to premiere on the channel on Thursday, January 25, 2023 at 8/7c. Let’s take a first look! We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with lead actress Nicole Weber about her experience on the movie “Crowdsource Murder” and a lot more.

Can you tell us a bit about your character in Crowdsource Murder?

Monica is a single mom who would do anything for her daughter. She values her career, but her core strengths come from her family and her friendships. She learns to fiercely trust her instincts.

What initially attracted you to your role in Crowdsource Murder?

I jumped on the chance to work with Brittany Underwood, who I greatly admire as an actor and a director.  I’m thrilled to be a part of her 10th film as director. I was also very excited for the chance to play such an independent, courageous and capable female character.

What do you think makes this movie so special and captivating?

Crowdsource Murder deals with an all-too common tale of people turning to crowdsourcing campaigns in order to cover routine medical bills. The story takes this issue to the next level – the idea that perhaps not all those interested in helping others are doing it selflessly.

What do you hope audiences take away from watching Crowdsource Murder?

Women have not always been taught to trust their inner voice. It’s so important to trust your instincts above all else. It’s also a story about the value and importance of female friendships. We are capable of so much more when we come together.

What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?

I worked with Brittany in a film that will be coming out later this year and felt the energy of a professional who cares deeply about not only the work, but the family that it takes to make a successful film. I loved being on set with such talented actors and crew, and learned so much from all of them. There was an atmosphere of camaraderie that felt really special. And I walked away not only having had a great professional experience, having built wonderful friendships.

What was your favorite scene or moment while filming Crowdsource Murder?

Every day on set was so fulfilling, every scene felt like a new opportunity. If I have to pick one (without offering any spoilers) I would point to a challenging and emotional restaurant scene with the wonderful James Hyde who plays Noah. It gives me chills just thinking about that scene!

Can you tell us about any challenges you faced while filming Crowdsource Murder? and how you overcame them?

Actors – like most professions – often face their biggest challenges from their inner critic. No matter how accomplished or prepared you are, insecurities can pop up, and for an actor. I was able to manage those moments, and I credit the positive energy Brittany Underwood brought to the set every day.

Change of subject, What have been some of the most memorable projects you have worked on throughout your career, and why?

A large part of my career to this point has been in professional theatre, and I’ve had the chance to work with some extraordinary companies including San Francisco Playhouse, South Coast Repertory in L.A. and Theatre 3 in Dallas.  I strive to be versatile, and in addition to commercial work, I also continue to work in sketch comedy and as a singer. I also appeared in the LMN film Stalked by my Stepsister this past year with a fantastic team of creatives.

Can you tease something about your next projects?

I have several exciting projects in the works, including a made for TV movie starring Brittany Underwood that is currently in post-production titled Her Deadly Letters. I’m also in pre-production for a web series titled Vegan Please. I play a people-pleasing blogger building her vegan business in the polite land of “Minnesota nice”—but confrontation becomes unavoidable after my character falls in love with a butcher. You can follow the journey of this webseries on instagram and tik tok @veganplease.tv and on my instagram @nicolesavickweber
