Isabella Carlsen and Muretta Moss star in the movie Killing All my Sisters premiered on Lifetime Movie Network on Thursday March 14th, 2024 at 8/7c. We at Survived The Shows had the incredible chance to talk with star Muretta Moss, who teased the movie and her experience in Killing All my Sisters. Check out the full interview below!

Can you tell us a bit about your character in Killing All My Sisters

Sure, thanks so much for the interview. My character is Allie Stevens. She is a successful artist and most importantly the mother to a beautiful daughter, Emily (played by Isabella Carlsen) who is entering her freshman year at college. So Allie is an empty nester and taking the time to get back to herself and her art!

What initially attracted you to your role in Killing All My Sisters?

When the casting director, Ricki Maslar, reached out she said you are “Allie.” I felt seen because I really do relate to the character’s caring, artistic nature. I was excited to work with the director, Haylie Duff and I always enjoy working with the producing team at Real One Entertainment.

What do you think makes this movie so special and captivating?

The movie is a thriller that involves sorority and fraternities, so it is definitely entertaining. The cast in and of itself are pretty darn captivating. The combined talent of the cast and crew make this a pretty special, exciting movie.

What do you hope audiences take away from watching Killing All My Sisters?

I hope the audience is entertained and I’m sure they will be! There are some deeper themes about not following the crowd and what it means to be a good friend too. What I really hope is for the audience to enjoy this thrill ride.

What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?

The cast is so talented and fun, I miss them all. We shot on location at Eastern Kentucky University, so it brought me back to my own college days…well, kind of. Isabella Carlsen is a star and super talented, she can be my daughter anytime! The rest of the women have incredible depth and talent. The director Haylie Duff and CD, Ricki Maslar, really did a great job in casting. It would have been easy to cast stereotypical sorority and fraternity types, but they did a great job creating real believable characters and not caricatures.

What can you tease about your character’s journey?

Allie takes quite a journey with a budding romance with Ryan, who is played by Will Holland. I don’t want to spoil anything so you have to watch the movie, but Allie will kick some sorority girl booty if she has to.

What was your favorite scene or moment while filming Killing All my Sisters?

I enjoy any scene where there are stunts that require having to work with a stunt coordinator, which I was lucky to have happen in this movie. The action scene is a favorite. The scenes with me and my daughter having real connections as mother and daughter are so sweet. I have to say those are my top favorites.

Can you tell us about any challenges you faced while filming Killing All My Sisters and how you overcame them?

This was such a well-directed, organized shoot – BUT a tornado warning did prove challenging for an exterior shot and we had to push that scene and production was on top of it. Weather can definitely be the most challenging when shooting on location. Overall Kentucky has some lovely weather and I love the authenticity of shooting on location.

At Survived the Shows, we are big fans of Christmas comedies. What is your all-time favorite?

I have a lot of favorites, though I have to say I can’t get enough of The Holiday, directed by Nancy Meyers, no matter what time of year.  Christmas in the London countryside or a swank Hollywood mansion, yes please! “You’re supposed to be the leading lady of your own life, for god’s sake!”

Change of subject, what have been some of the most memorable projects you have worked on throughout your career, and why?

It’s funny how after the years projects blur together. One moment I hope to never forget was a brief job I did on the HBO show The Staircase. I was a reporter doing a sit-down interview with Academy Award winner Colin Firth’s character. In my head all I could think about was a priceless deleted scene from Bridget Jones the Edge of Reason where Bridget Jones interviewed the actor Colin Firth about his character Mr. Darcy in the BBC miniseries Pride and Prejudice. I kept it professional, but it was a referential experience interviewing the man behind the wet shirt. Mark your weekend plans now to watch Killing All My Sisters and rewatch Bridget Jones

Can you tease something about your next projects?

Let’s just say Killing All My Sisters is not the only daughter that needs saving in my life. I am fortunate to have a handful of new movies that will be coming out on the Lifetime Movie Network, and they are all thrilling thrillers I hope you enjoy!

“Killing All my Sisters” starring Muretta Moss will premiere on Thursday, March 14th on Lifetime Movie Network.
