Check out the full interview below!

Can you tell us a bit about your character in Devil on Campus: The Larry Ray Story?

My character Claudia Drury is a young women who attends Sarah Lawrence for the same reason all young people go to college, she’s looking to learn about herself, find people she connects to, and begin the process of establishing herself as she takes her first steps into adulthood. She’s only just starting to feel like she’s finding her footing when Larry Ray arrives at her dorm. Adults decades her senior trusted Larry for years, he’s the father of one of her best friends, there was no indication other than the shadow of her gut feeling that she herself shouldn’t trust him. With his arrival Larry begins systematically indoctrinating the students and Claudia is swept along in the wake of his destruction.

What initially attracted you to your role in Devil on Campus: The Larry Ray Story?

I was attracted to Devil on Campus for a number of reasons. Claudia as a character I think could be easily misunderstood and I feel really honoured to be able to reflect not just on her life and the tragedy of what Larry Ray inflicted on it but also on how it is so challenging as a young person to find your way, and how if you find the wrong person it really can lead you astray. Though Claudia’s journey was an incredibly difficult one, I was drawn to and inspired by her strength and her bravery in eventually saving herself and her friends by being the lead witness in the case against Larry Ray.

Elisabeth Rohm as the director and her passion for the story was also a major factor. Elisabeth’s dedication to telling this story with care and compassion made it an effortless choice to join the project.

What do you think makes this movie so special and captivating?

The things that take place in this movie are so shocking and the hurt the characters face is unfathomable but underneath that this is a story about family, struggling to find yourself, and acquiring the bravery to step out and protect yourself. I think those are experiences everyone can identify with and I think everyone will find themselves swept away in this story as the characters fight to do so.

What do you hope audiences take away from watching Devil on Campus: The Larry Ray Story?

I hope after watching the movie people remember to be kind to everyone around them because you genuinely don’t know what people are going through at anytime. And to listen to your instincts when something doesn’t feel right, it’s okay to be different and do things differently than what everyone is doing when it doesn’t feel right for you.

What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?

The cast in Devil on Campus is absolutely fantastic. Working opposite Billy Zane was a masterclass every single day. Our entire cast was lucky enough to have the space and time to really work our scenes out together as a team. We all got along wonderfully despite the serious scenes we were tackling. We had so much fun and really all connected as a family. Add in Elisabeth as the incredible Director she is guiding us as our North Star and it really was an actors dream scenario.

What can you tease about your character’s journey?

All I can say is every twist and turn in the story really is as shocking as you think it will be.

What was your favorite scene or moment while filming Devil on Campus: The Larry Ray Story?

Without spoiling it, my favourite scene is one that is a turning point in Claudia’s journey. It’s an incredibly challenging, heart wrenching scene and it was important to me that it felt truthful & real. Billy is terrifying in it, I think people will really be surprised by it. It was an intense day on set and I think everyone tackled it wonderfully.

Change of subject, What have been some of the most memorable projects you have worked on throughout your career, and why?

This one really takes the cake. Everything that our cast and crew poured into this project really has made it the most intense and rewarding project I’ve had the honour of being part of thus far.

At Survived the Shows, we are big fans of Christmas rom-coms. What is your all-time favorite?

I gotta say my favourite Christmas rom-com is Elf! I watch it every year and I love it every time.

Can you tease something about your next projects?

My team and I currently have some things in the works that can’t yet be announced. I’m also working towards writing & directing my own projects so I’m a busy gal!
