Lifetime Movie Network ‘s thriller movie “Obsessed to Death” premiered on the channel on Sunday, November 5, 2023. We at Survived The Shows had the incredible chance to discuss it with star Kathryn Kohut, who plays Summer. Check out the full interview below!

Can you tell us a bit about your character in Obsessed to Death?

KATHRYN KOHUT: Summer is true to her name, she’s warm, bright and positive. She’s a glass half full type of person and she really cares for the people around her, she’s hard working and cares about the career she’s built for herself. She’s a fighter.

What initially attracted you to your role in “Obsessed to Death”?

KATHRYN KOHUT: I’ve always loved thrillers! So that was one of the reasons I was excited to do the film, alongside a great cast, crew and director being attached to the project too.

What do you hope audiences take away from watching “Obsessed to Death”?

KATHRYN KOHUT: I hope they get a good laugh and a few jump scares and leave the film feeling entertained. It’s filled with a lot of dark comedy that also pokes fun at some of the ridiculousness of todays social media movement and all that comes with it.

What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?

KATHRYN KOHUT: The cast is so talented and everyone was eager to make this film the best we could make it. Jesse is a ray of sunshine and so funny, Holland got me hooked on vanilla cold brew coffees haha and she was a great leader on set and Colton is the most thoughtful sweetest guy. That positive energy is contagious. Working with Stefan was really eye opening because he is so good at what he does, and I learned a lot. He really supported all of us, and made everyday on set awesome. We all laughed a lot!

What can you tease about your character’s journey?

KATHRYN KOHUT: Summer’s world is pretty close to perfect when we first meet her, not that she hasn’t had obstacles… but nothing like when Cassie enters the room haha. She’s tested to her limits and her fighter comes out.

What was your favorite scene or moment while filming “Obsessed to Death”?

KATHRYN KOHUT: I have a couple favourites! I loved filming all of the fitness instructor scenes because I’d never done anything like that before. I felt like I actually did the workouts sometimes because we would have to shoot multiple times to get different angles and I remembered thinking “oh man, I should have used a smaller weight!” Haha. I also loved the finale face-off between Summer and Cassie.

Can you tell us about any challenges you faced while filming “Obsessed to Death” and how you overcame them?

KATHRYN KOHUT: This is going to sound silly, but that high ponytail was serious business. It had to be very securely attached to the top of my head with a lot of pins, and my god, I was fighting excruciating headaches all day. I didn’t ever really talk about it on set but Advil was my best friend and I just had to power through. The best feeling was when it came off at the end of the day haha

Can you tease something about your next projects?

KATHRYN KOHUT: I’ve worked on some really cool things this past year, the most recent one being Twisted Neighbor where I got to work with Stefan and Colton again! It’s a Thriller that will have you guessing the whole way through! It’s scary and funny and creepy and TWISTED- it’s on Tubi!
