What’s the main element in Mike’s character and show in general that fascinates you the most and drew you to join Game of Love?

I really liked that Mike acts as the voice of reason for his brother. I feel like it’s important to have people in our lives that give us honest advice and are willing to offer a different perspective on situations we are going through. Also the fact that he is a fan of basketball. I love the game of basketball and have been playing for years. I had never gotten the chance to play basketball on screen until Game of Love, so I was excited about that!

Where are you and Mike most similar and where most different as human beings?

People tend to want to speak to me about issues they are dealing with and I have no problem giving them my honest thoughts. Any chance I have to help someone I care about in that aspect is important to me. Where we are different is I tend to wait until people open up to me in most cases. Rather than making the decision to approach someone about a personal matter on my own.

To all the fans looking forward to watching the new season, how would you describe Game of Love in just 3 words?

Wholesome, captivating, and fun

What can you tease about Mike’s journey throughout the movie?

The most I can say is that it’s wholesome!

What’s been the biggest challenge for you in portraying Mike?

Building enough chemistry with other cast members was important because our characters are family. I would say it was a challenge to do it in a short time but once I got to the set it was very easy to connect with everyone. Ecstasia Sanders who plays my wife, is actually a friend I’ve worked with before so that helped a lot as well.

Talking about the environment on set, how would you describe your experience while filming Game of Love and do you have any fun anecdotes to share?

Game of Love was a great set to work on. The whole production was run very well. Jason is a great director that has a way of explaining exactly what he’s looking for. It was great to meet and work with Kimberly and Brooks. All of the actors, along with Jason, made it a collaborative effort. We just wanted to be able to put out the best finished product possible.

If you could choose any other character from Game of Love, apart from Mike, that you would have loved to play, which one would it be and why?

This is hard to say because I think everyone did a great job in their roles. I’m not sure of which character but I would have loved to play another character if I didn’t play Mike as long as the experience on set was the same!

Among all the shows you guest-starred in, is it one you would like to come back and continue your character’s story?

I would absolutely love to continue playing the role of Mike in more projects. I think there is a lot more to this character that can be explored and it would be beneficial for the viewers to see it play out.

Throwing back to the origins of your career, how did the passion for acting come about in your life?

I always knew how important film was to me because of how it made me feel. Ever since I was a kid I was drawn to movies or tv shows that really made me laugh, cry, excited, scared, and more. Usually there would be one or two characters that I really connected with in each project. Once I realised how that made me feel, I began to think that it would be amazing to play a character that has a lasting effect on other people as well. From that point on I knew in the back of mind I would probably pursue acting one day.

Among all the roles you’ve had the chance to play throughout your career, is there any particular role you’re most fond of?

All of the roles I’ve played so far have been special to me because they represent different stages in my life and career. If I had to choose one so far it would be Miles in We Need a Little Christmas. This was mainly because I got to work with Lynn Whitfield who is an iconic actress that I’ve been watching since I was really young. She was great to work with and made me feel like family.

If you had to give some advice to people who want to pursue an acting career, which kind of advice would you give them?

The business is a tough one and I really hope you want to be a part of it because you love it. If your love for the art isn’t your reason it will be difficult to make it through the obstacles of this industry. Always work on your craft, don’t get down on yourself from rejection, and remember all you can do is be prepared to do your best work. After that the rest is out of your control.
