Lifetime Movie Network ‘s mystery movie “Twisted Sister”, is all set to premiere on the channel on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 8/7c. We at Survived The Shows had the chance to chat via email with actress Joy Nash who teased the movie and her experience on it. Check out the full interview below!

Can you tell us a bit about your character in Twisted Sister?

JOY NASH: Let’s see- Mena Suvari plays Emily, a mom and CEO of a high powered PR company and I pop up as her very mysterious and long lost sister Lily at the absolute strangest moment…

What initially attracted you to your role in Twisted Sister?

JOY NASH: Well first, I was really excited to play a role that had nothing to do with my size.  A lot of the parts I’ve played in the past have been sort of “about” my physicality and to do something that was totally unrelated was great. And second, I was really excited to play the bad guy.  If that’s not too much of a spoiler lol.  I mean it IS in the title!!

What do you think makes the action in the movie so special and captivating?

JOY NASH: Probably our commitment to the moment and a little dash of that Lifetime magic.

What do you hope audiences take away from watching Twisted Sister?

JOY NASH: You can’t ever take things at face value. Keep your eyes out for henchmen! Also, beware a storage facility with a chandelier.

What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?

JOY NASH: That was my favorite part- Mena is really fun and funny. Everyone was great – Nobody took themselves too seriously.

What can you tease about your character’s journey?

JOY NASH: When Lily first shows up she seems pretty sweet and caring and Emily really takes her under her wing, but it’s not long before the tables really turn…

What was your favorite scene or moment while filming Twisted Sister?

JOY NASH: Definitely our big showdown at the end. How often do you get to yell “Give me the girl!!”

Can you tell us about any challenges you faced while filming Twisted Sister and how you overcame them?

JOY NASH: Honestly the biggest challenge- it was the first project I’d shot during the pandemic and the 12 hour days were the longest period I’d left my cat alone for in literal years.  I came home after the first long day and the poor thing had given himself a hot spot from stress!  He’s totally fine now but I really felt terrible.

Change of subject, What have been some of the most memorable projects you have worked on throughout your career, and why?

JOY NASH: Definitely Dietland – I’d never dreamed I’d get to star in 10 episodes of my own TV show- working with people like Julianna Margulies and Marti Noxon.. it was a dream.  And Twin Peaks- to be directed by David Lynch in such an iconic part– I was pinching myself every day.

Can you tease something about your next projects?

JOY NASH: I’ve just recorded a couple audiobooks for Harper Audio and I’m on hold for some features I can’t say much about other than I am SO HAPPY the SAG-AFTRA strike is coming to an end!
