EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW – Jordana Summer on the ‘romantic, cozy and sweet’ story on Hallmark’s Sweeter than Chocolate’! – WATCH

Eloise Mumford, Dan Jeannotte and Brenda Strong will star in “Sweeter than Chocolate” a new, original movie premiering Saturday, February 4 (8 p.m. ET/PT) on Hallmark Channel. We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with Jordana Summer about her experience in the making of Sweeter than Chocolate and what fans can expect. Check out full interview below!

What’s the main element in Georgie’s character and the movie in general that fascinates you the most and drew you to join Sweeter than Chocolate?

I mean, I always watched Hallmark movies with my dad growing up, and I think they’re just so, like, cozy and leave you with good feelings after watching them. Especially the holiday movies, they put you in such a festive mood, like the Christmas movies are always so nice to watch. And then when I found out they were doing a Valentine’s Day movie, I jumped at the chance to be a part of it when they told me that they wanted me to be the part of Georgie.

Where are you and Georgie most similar and where most different as human beings?

I think that Georgie and I are both like figuring life out right now. She’s a college student trying to do her best, her new job, and I think it’s just like a cool place to be in life. And she’s like figuring out who she is as a person and figuring out what makes her happy. I think they were different in that I feel like she gets overwhelmed very easily, and I think I’m better at like taking a deep breath and collecting myself and getting it done and stuff. So yeah.

What’s been the biggest challenge for you in portraying Georgie?

Most of my time on set has been pretty small roles, so to get the chance to play her as a newer actor, it was definitely an adjustment to really being a part of the story. It’s a very like fast-paced environment on set and I had to make sure I was ready to be Georgie whenever they needed me on set.

To all the fans looking forward to watching the movie, how would you describe Sweeter than Chocolate in just 3 words?

Romantic, cozy, and sweet.

If you could choose any other character from Sweeter than Chocolate, apart from Georgie, that you would have loved to play, which one would it be and why?

I think that’s Serena’s character would have been a really fun role to play. She plays Lucy’s best friend and she believes wholeheartedly in the legend of the Cupid. She’s just gotten engaged and she is just like head over heels in the belief that without the help of the chocolate. She never would have like had that happen. It’s played by Christin Park and she’s just so wonderful and she brings like so much energy and life to the role, and I feel like getting to play someone so dramatic and in love would just be so much fun.

Did you take anything from set, any prop or piece of costume, to remember your experience as Georgie?

They let me take home one of the necklaces that I wore in the final scene and every time I wear it, it just reminds me of how much fun it was on set and it feels like George is a part of me.

What do you remember of your experience on Riverdale?

On Riverdale, everyone was just so kind again, like it was a really fun and it was like a very heavy episode. Like they’re talking about Martin Luther King being shot and. It really struck me how much the director cared about the project that like she was filming and that how much she like. At one point she was tearing up while explaining it and like showing us the video of like real people reacting to. The news that Martin Luther King had been shot and like it was just. Really struck me how deeply like everyone on the set was feeling it and how seriously they were taking it.

“Sweeter than Chocolate” with Jordana Summer will premiere on Saturday February 4 on Hallmark Channel.
