EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Director Peter Sullivan Breaks Down Lifetime’s “ Secrets in the Desert ” – WATCH

The new Lifetime movie, Secrets in the Desert, will premiere on the channel on Sunday October 1, 2023. We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with director Peter Sullivan about his experience in the making of Secrets in the Desert and what fans can expect from the movie.

Can you tell us a bit about the storyline of “Secrets in the Desert”?

Secrets in the Desert is the story of a young woman traveling across the country with her boyfriend in an electric car that breaks down, straining her in a small town where everyone seemingly has a secret. Her boyfriend disappears and she goes through hell to find him and discovers a lot about her, herself, as well as him and some other secrets along the way.

What initially attracted you to the story in “Secrets in the Desert”?

What attracted me to the story was that our main character is very much an empowered woman. She is not a victim. She is very much driving the story forward at all times. She’s driven to find her loved one, her curiosity, keep the investigation going, and I really loved the idea of telling the story of such a powerful and willful woman, as well as a good deal of action along the way. What I think makes the action in the film so compelling is that it all come from a personal place.
