EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW – Devin Cecchetto Discusses Nicolette’s Arc on Lifetime’s Danger Rocks the Cradle!

Fallon Bowman, Devin Cecchetto and Kelly Hope Taylor star in Danger Rocks the Cradle, which premiered May 4 on Lifetime. We at Survived The Shows had the great pleasure of chatting with Devin Cecchetto and discuss her experience in the movie. Check out the full interview below!

How did you get involved with “Danger Rocks the Cradle ” and what drew you to the role of Nicolette?

This movie came about through a selftape. I remember reading the audition with my partner at the time I was very excited to take on a character like Nicolette. I fell in love with the idea of playing a strong, independent, rougher character, as usually I am cast as the preppy one. I loved that Nicolette will stop at nothing to get what she wants

What was your favorite part of filming on location in “Danger Rocks the Cradle”?

Filming on location is the best because it’s like a small vacation, you get to discover a new place while also discovering a new character. I’ve really been getting to know Ottawa recently, and parts of Quebec. Not to mention, when the entire cast is on location, it feels like a real bonding experience.

How did you bond with your co-stars on set?

There was so much to bond over, the fact we all stayed in the same hotel made for some fun adventures off set. But I’ll save those for another day πŸ˜‰

What was your favorite scene to film in the movie?

I alway get really excited about filming the scene that I auditioned with, in this case it was the scene between me and Jake when Nicolette tell him she is pregnant. Its always so interesting to see how a scene transforms from what you imagine in your head for so long.

Can you tell us about any funny behind-the-scenes moments from filming?

Roxanne who directed the movie is the most amazing human being in the world. It’s the second time she’s directed me and its amazing that the two of us get any work done. We laugh our heads off between almost every take, we were constantly cracking inside jokes, and just having a blast..

What was the most challenging scene to film and why?

I think I was most worried about the scene where Nicolette gets kidnapped, and then knocked out in the car. I was unsure how to approach it at first because of the physicality and the screaming but in the end everything just fell into place with adrenaline. It ended up being a really fun scene to shoot because Thomas, my costar, was amazing to work with and I really trusted him.

What’s your favorite memory from filming “Danger Rocks the Cradle “?

For this movie, we shot a lot of overnights, and after a while we all got pretty loopy !!Being awake all night and going to bed at sunrise makes for some silly conversation, and wild moments. On the first take of the scene where Sandy rescues Nicolette, I was running out of the room way too high on adrenaline and I fell right on my ass, but everyone just started laughing instead of helping me and then I started laughing because it was all so silly.

How did you get into acting in the first place?

Ever since I was little I really loved to perform. I started acting in musicals when I was six and then professionally did music theatre for a long time. Only in the last three years did I move to film and television. I guess I just kind of fell into acting. I knew the arts would always be my passion, just a matter of which.Β Β

Which were the roles you liked the most to play throughout your career?

For most of my film/ Television career, I’ve played teenagers from 15-18 but most recently I filmed a movie in Montreal, called Marry F*** Kill where I finally got to play my age and be a little promiscuous, which is more true to my nature πŸ˜‰ Going forward I would love to be a superhero at some point !

What advice would you give to aspiring actors?

I feel like this is cheesy, but it’s true !! Never give up, keep following your heart and most importantly stay positive πŸ™‚ Nothing is impossible !

Can you tell us about any upcoming projects you have in the works?

I seem to always be in horror and thriller movies so you can look forward to seeing this face In other one of those πŸ˜‰

What can audiences expect from your performance in “Danger Rocks the Cradle” and what do you hope audiences take away from “Danger Rocks the Cradle” ?

I think audience can expect a very grounded performance. Nicolette goes through quite a struggle, as she tackles many adult things at such an early age but in the end finds love and family. I hope people come away from this movie feeling heart warmed and happy πŸ™‚
