Can you tell us a bit about your character in Stupid Games?

I don’t think I have ever played a character like Riley before. She is so seductive and sinister at the same time. She is kind of the Siren who has ulterior motives to this invitation.

What initially attracted you to your role in Stupid Games?

I really fell in love with the idea of the ensemble cast. Everyone does an insanely good job, and we all had such great chemistry. My incredible friend Grant Terzakis (playing Stanley in the film) is the one who initially recommended me for the role, and I trust him a lot. He’s got great instinct. Then I got to read the script and learn about my character and the dynamics between all of these people, and I thought, “wow this is going to be fun. I have to be a part of this.” Finally, meeting producer, Dani Abraham, and Director, Nicolas Wendl, was just the icing on the cake. When you meet people like that who are so genuinely kind and wildly good at their jobs, you’ll do anything for them.

What do you think makes this movie so special and captivating?

The cast and crew’s chemistry was what made my personal experience so special, but the captivating energy was just this overall familiar nostalgia that you get from a 90’s style horror film. From the writing, to the score and music, to the cinematography. It is the 90’s nostalgia and tropes of the 90’s style ensemble characters. It is SO fun.

What can you tease about your character Journey?

Riley isn’t just about the games and the boys. She’s layered, and she knows exactly what she is doing. But that’s all I’ll say… you just gotta watch it on Mometu.

What was your favorite scene or moment while filming Stupid Games?

My two favorite scenes to film were 1. My scene with the “delivery guy” because he is played by my best friend Larsen Deane. It’s the first professional scene we’ve ever gotten to do together, and I loved every second of it. As well as a moment during the game, Stanley (played by Grant Terzakis) and Riley have a particularly intense moment. I felt like both of us emotionally stretched really far in that scene, and I am really proud of it.

What do you hope audiences take away from watching Stupid Games?

I hope they will realize how far you can take your creativity in an indie film environment. We shot Stupid Games in 6 days on a $10,000 budget in an apartment. How on earth did we pull that off? The leadership of course, but also everyone being on their A game every day. When I watched it back, the production value just looked off the charts. That is what happens when you really believe in something and support and trust each other. If we could do that with $10,000 in an apartment, my mind can’t help but race with what we could have done with more than that.

What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?

I have no words. I think my favorite part was earning best friends and creating a family. To this day, that cast is full of my real life best friends. Alyssa Tortomasi, Ashwini Ganpule, Gage Robinson, Grant Terzakis, Saad Rolando, Larsen Deane… they are my family for life. I feel very lucky. It isn’t always like that.
