EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW – Alisa Filoramo Previews Lifetime’s Look Who’s Stalking!

Can you tell us a bit about your character Hope?

ALISA FILORAMO: Hope is a strong woman, even at her weakest moments! She’s a surgeon by day and a mother of one, she’s also recently widowed, but now has a new “rock-star” husband.

What initially attracted you to the role of Hope in “Haunted by my Stalker”?

ALISA FILORAMO: As I mentioned, Hope is a strong female character. She has a great career, she owns a beautiful home, and has a wonderful support system around her. Even though she is tested over and over she doesn’t give up, she is willing to fight no matter what the cost.

What makes the action scene in the movie so captivating?

ALISA FILORAMO: Well, there are a couple action scenes to be honest! Without giving away too much, Hope is a fighter, her strength really comes out when she is tested to the limit.

What do you hope audiences take away from watching “Haunted by my Stalker”? (Renamed “Look Who’s Stalking”)

ALISA FILORAMO: I hope (no pun intended) audiences gain strength from watching Hope’s journey. I also hope people can learn the power they have to choose their own mindset. Hope has to choose throughout the film who to trust, what to believe, or whether or not she is going to give up or keep fighting. We all have that same power everyday in every moment. The human mind is so fragile but also capable of overcoming unspeakable tragedy. I hope that no matter what people are going through, they can become empowered to keep fighting, whatever that means to them.

What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?

ALISA FILORAMO: Everyone on set was so incredible to work with! Cast and crew included. My co-stars Juliana Destefano, Kiana Nicole Washington, Robin De Lano, Harley Jay, and Jon Briddell are all so talented and each really helped to bring this story to life. Even though a lot of the scenes are “heavy” and quite serious, we always found comic relief with one another. I also think we owe a lot to our Casting Directors at Stella Nova, our producers at Shadowboxer Films, as well as our director Doug Campbell, who really make working these intense, fast-paced films enjoyable.

What can you tease about your character’s journey?

ALISA FILORAMO: Well I think I already mentioned it… Hope is a fighter! She doesn’t give up. Even when she feels like she can’t trust anyone around her, even when she feels alone and like she’s losing her mind.

What was your favorite scene or moment while filming “Haunted by my Stalker”?

ALISA FILORAMO: I would say one of my favorite scenes to shoot was probably the climax of the film. There was a little bit of stunt choreography, but if I say anymore I might give it away! Another favorite scene was when Hope approaches her husband and daughter because she feels like she can’t trust them. It was a very emotional scene for me but connecting with my co-star Kiana, who plays my daughter, and who did a great job of “holding the space for me” was some of that “on-set magic” we all hope for as actors. Being able to connect in a real way, emotionally, human-to-human, is why I love acting so much.

Can you tell us about any challenges you faced while filming “Haunted by my Stalker” and how you overcame them?

ALISA FILORAMO: There will always be challenges on set, no matter how prepared you or the rest of the cast and crew are. But I would say for this role specifically “exhaustion” was a challenge I had to face, hah! While playing the role of Hope, I was in almost every scene every day of filming. That meant I was working 12 hour days with several outfit changes and pushing myself mentally (and physically) in a pretty demanding role. It can take a toll on your body and mind when you are literally living in a character for several weeks at a time. So getting enough sleep, staying hydrated, and leaning on the support of your cast and crew are ways to get through any film.

Change of subject, What have been some of the most memorable projects you have worked on throughout your career, and why?

ALISA FILORAMO: Well, my career is just getting started in my opinion! But in the past year I filmed a pitch pilot for a pretty amazing project I can’t say too much about, and I just filmed a show on Amazon that should hopefully come out this year. I’ve been fortunate to play a lot of fun, powerful females and I’m looking forward to continuing down that path!

Can you tease something about your next projects?

ALISA FILORAMO: As I mentioned I filmed a pitch pilot for a really incredible Sci-fi series I can’t say too much about, (I also don’t have enough information to share at this stage) and I just filmed a small role on a new Amazon series by Dick Wolf titled “On Call” that should come out later this year.
